Baking Method Add 1 beaten egg, 1oz (28g) melted butter or vegetable oil, 200 mls buttermilk (or whole milk, soya milk or almond milk) 1. Preheat oven to 200ºC/400ºF/Gas 6 2. Whisk egg lightly in a bowl 3. Add melted butter and milk 4. Add the pack of Helen's scone mix and stir with a spoon until smooth and thickened 5. Spoon dessertspoonfuls of dough onto a greased or lined non-stick baking tray. 6. Bake for 12-15 minutes 7. Cool on a wire rack Tip: For a different touch add half a grated apple or a fist of sultanas to the dough and brush the tops with beaten egg before baking. Each pack makes 8-10 Scones
