How to Make the Perfect Saucy Toffee Pudding

These instructions are given as a guide.
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C Fan/ Gas Mark 4.
2. Empty the contents of the sponge mix sachet into a large bowl and add the egg, butter and milk and mix with a wooden spoon until combined.
3. Pour into a 1 litre ovenproof pudding dish.
4. Sprinkle over the sauce sachet then carefully pour 150ml boiling water into the bowl using the back of a metal spoon to avoid disrupting the powder.
5. Bake for 30-35 mins. Serve immediately.
Top Tip
To minimise the risk of a sunken sponge, avoid opening the oven door too early to check your pudding.
